Terrible Teeth

So, some of you may already know at this point that over the weekend of April 10th, Hannah chipped her two front teeth. I was away at a friends bridal shower and Glenn and Hannah were home having some fun daddy daughter time. I decided to tell them that it would be a good day to go up to Ohio Mulch because they were having a huge sale... and seeing that we have a huge yard, we needed to get the mulch for our yard on sale. Done. On the way out the clerk gave Hannah your bigger than average balloon. It was blue and huge!

As usually daddy found a creative way to weigh down the balloon so it wouldn't fly away. He decided he would use a metal OSU key chain. Bad idea. Hannah decided that to get some fun out of this balloon she would throw it up in the air really high, and watch it float down.... as she was doing this right in the middle of our living room/ kitchen area the key chain came down and popped her right in the front teeth. Instant scream!

Glenn and I didn't know what to do. My cousin is a periodontist (sp) and I thought it would be a good idea to call them. He recommended that if she seemed like she was in pain, we needed to take her to Nationwide Children's hospital to be seen by a pediatric dentist.... we were on our way. Hannah was still crying and could not open her mouth.. all she wanted to do was bite on something to prevent the cold air from touching her little broken teeth.

After some pretty long minutes of waiting, which felt like an eternity, they took us back to see the dentist, and sure enough the root was exposed and Hannah had to have a band-aid put on her teeth. Kinda like a filling... and they would later follow up with her in three weeks. She was not at all thrilled that the dentist had to "fix" her teeth but when it was all over all she said was "can we go now?" then once in the car she said "that dotor feel my teeth better!" We knew she would be fine.

Well three weeks have almost past and we take our sweet girl back to Nationwide to see the pediatric dentist for some permanent caps, as long as everything looks ok.

We will keep you updated... they said that they can match Hannah's original tooth color and that she will be as good as new once they are done.

Glenn and I are so relieved that she is feeling better and it wasn't as serious as it could have been.
